SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 Manuscripts should be sent by e-mail as an attachment to fej@uwf.edu.  Manuscripts should be double spaced throughout (including quotations, endnotes, and works cited), with standard margins.  Word 97 or later is preferred.  Authors using Macintosh software should save their work as Word for Windows.  Please save copies of anything you send us.  We cannot return any materials to authors.   

o   In general, manuscripts for articles should be no more than ten to fifteen double-spaced typed pages in length (approximately 2,500 to 3,750 words).

o   Do not submit work that has been published elsewhere.

o   Number all pages.

o   Use in-text documentation, following APA 6 guidelines.

o   List your name, address, school affiliation, telephone number, and e-mail address on the title page only, not on the manuscript.  Receipt of manuscripts will be acknowledged by e-mail.   DUE DATE for current submissions is July 15, 2012.

 The FEJ accepts ideas and or/manuscripts for the following: 

o   Feature Articles- Send us essays that relate to exceptional 21st century teaching.  The theme for this issue is “Be the Light…Be the Change…Be the Leader in the Classroom”.

o   Original artwork/cartoons/poetry:  All artwork is printed in black and white.  Submit drawings on 8.5 X 11.5 inch unlined paper or on CD.  The artist should sign drawings. 

o   Practitioner’s Book Reviews:  Tell us about a practitioner’s book that has been especially helpful to you in your classroom.

o   Young Adult Book Reviews:  Tell us about the best young adult literature you or your students have encountered. 

o   Teaching Tips:  Share items you have used successfully in your classroom:  lesson plans, books, web sites, classroom management techniques, etc. 

o   Copy This:  Simply send us one of your favorite original assignments.  Include background information on yourself, your school population, and guidelines for the assignment.

o   News and Views:  Provide information on any new state or national legislation that is relevant to our profession; you may state your opinion on it, or simply relay the facts.
